Young at Heart Christmas Dinner
The Young at Heart will eat at The Pier on Friday, December 11. The bus will leave the church at 5:30 PM. 2009 yearly dues should be paid to Joanne Boatman by Friday, December 11. If you have any questions, you may contact Sue Bramucci.

Revolve’s Christmas Wrapping and Babysitting
The Revolve youth group will have a Christmas gift wrapping and babysitting (pre-school to 6th grade) fundraiser on Saturday, December 12 from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. For children staying through lunch, they will need to bring a sack lunch. Donations are appreciated. All proceeds go to Revolve Youth Ministries and Speed the Light Missions. If you have any questions, please see Pastor Courtney.

Christmas Gift for Jesus
Sunday, December 13 in the AM services is Christmas Gift for Jesus. We will have Thomas Carpenter with Special Touch Camps. Please prayerfully consider giving at least 10% of what you spend for Christmas gifts to this ministry. In the PM service, we will have Angelia Carpenter, Arkansas District Women’s Ministries Director.

Choir Cantata
Please join us as we celebrate Christmas with music and theater. Sunday, December 20 in the AM services, the Adult Choir will perform, “Hope has Come” in the sanctuary.

Revolve Youth Christmas Play
On Sunday, December 20 in the PM service, the Revolve youth will perform a Christmas play, “Christmas Comes to Detroit, Louie” in the Family Life Center.

Office Closed
The office will be closed Thursday, December 24-Friday, December 25 for Christmas. A pastor will be on call for emergencies.

Christmas and End of the Year Services
On Sunday, December 27, we will have a Family Christmas service and Communion at 10:30 AM. Please note: we will not have a 8:00 AM or 6:00 PM service, Sunday School or children’s church.
Wednesday, December 30 is the End of the Year service from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Office Closed
The office will be closed Friday, January 1, 2010 for New Year’s Day. A pastor will be on call for emergencies.

2010 Blue Forms (Activity Requests)
2010 Blue Forms (Activity Requests) are due NOW. Dates are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and fill up quickly. **All special events such as Easter drama, revivals, Kids Fest, or any events scheduled by the office, supersede any other activities.**

Chic Chat
Chic Chat is a ministry of our ladies groups that meets for a time of fellowship and to encourage one another and just have fun! They meet on Wednesdays in the Fellowship Hall at 6:45 PM. If you don’t have time for supper before the service, swing through a drive thru or brown bag it and we can all eat together.

After School Music Camp
All children involved in the Christmas Musical, Angels Aware, will have an After School Music Camp Thursday, December 3 and Friday, December 4 from 3:15-4:30 PM. They have a snack in the Fellowship Hall followed by practice in the sanctuary. If you have any questions, please see Becky Harness.

4-F Club
All adults are invited to attend the 4-F Club Christmas party on Friday, December 4 at 6:00 PM at Patricia McGarrity’s home (1506 Brentwood, West Memphis). Please bring a finger food, 1 bag of individually wrapped Christmas candy and a $3 wrapped ornament. Call Diane Lumpkin at 735-4338 if you have any questions.

Men’s Breakfast
The men’s breakfast will meet at the Eight Street Mission on Saturday, December 5 at 8:00 AM.
Angels Aware Dress Rehearsal
Saturday, December 5, there will be a dress rehearsal and a pizza lunch for Angels Aware from 10:00-12:00 PM . Also, please send $7 to cover the cost of the t-shirts for the musical.

40 & Below Ladies Christmas Party
All ladies are invited to the 40 & Below Christmas party on Saturday, December 5 at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring your favorite finger food. We would like to donate gifts to children in need. Please bring a gift for a boy or girl. If you’re not able to donate a gift, you can bring wrapping paper, tape, ribbon, bows or just yourself to help wrap the gifts!

Sunday, December 6
Sunday, December 6 is Senior Adult Day! Please join us in the AM services as we honor them. At 5:00 PM, we will have our All-Church Christmas dinner in the Family Life Center. If your last name begins with A-L, please bring a vegetable and dessert and M-Z, please bring a salad and dessert. Following the dinner, the children will present “Angels Aware” in the sanctuary.

Water Baptism
We will have Water Baptism on Sunday, December 6 in the 10:30 AM service. If you would like to be baptized please call or e-mail the office by Friday, December 4.

2010 Blue (Activity Requests) Forms

CORE Year End Meeting
All Adult, Children/Youth and Service Ministry leaders are asked to attend the CORE year end meeting on Wednesday, December 9 at 5:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

Revolve would like to help! We’ll watch your child (pre-school to 6th grade) on Saturday, December 12 from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and wrap your presents for you! Ladies Luncheon
Thursday, November 5, the Ladies Lunch Fellowship is excited to host a Bible Book Club. The group will meet for lunch at noon in the Fellowship Hall and then discuss different books of the Bible. All ladies are invited to join us and remember to bring a sack lunch.

Stitches of Love
Stitches of Love will meet Thursday, November 5 at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

4-F Club
The 4-F Club will leave the church at 6:00 PM to eat at T.G.I. Friday’s Friday, November 6. All adults are invited for a time of fellowship and fun. Please let Diane Lumpkin know if you plan to attend.

Men’s Breakfast
All men are invited to attend the breakfast at the Eight Street Mission on Saturday, November 7 at 8:00 AM.

Bridal Shower
All ladies are invited to attend a Bridal shower for Lindsey Driver on Saturday, November 7 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist West Memphis in the Fireside Parlor.

Discovery Class
If you are interested in becoming a member of First Assembly or want to learn more about us, please join Bobby Kennedy in the Discovery class. It will begin Sunday, November 8 at 9:30 AM in the Discovery room. Please call the office at 735-1907 to sign up.

Women’s Ministries Meeting
All ladies are invited to attend the WM Meeting on Tuesday, November 10 at 6:30 PM in the Family Life Center for a work night to prepare for the Sweet Shoppe.

Angel Food
The November order forms are available at each entrance. The last day to order on-line is Sunday, November 8 and the deadline for walk-in orders is Monday, November 9. The pick-up date is Saturday, November 14 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM in the Family Life Center. If you would like to serve in the ministry, please see Nancy Hardy, Scotta Steele or call the church office.

Sweet Shoppe
The WM Sweet Shoppe is scheduled for Saturday, November 14 at 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. All ladies are invited to bring their homemade baked goods (mixes okay). Even if you don’t bake, please come out and support the event by purchasing items for your holiday meals.

Sunday School Executive Committee Meeting
The Sunday School Executive Committee will meet Sunday, November 15 at 12:30 PM at Ameca Mexican Restaurant in West Memphis.

Christian Education Teachers Meeting
All Christian Education teachers and helpers will have a meeting Sunday, November 15 at 4:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

Gideons Service
On Sunday, November 15 in the PM service, Richard Fritz will share about the Gideons and what they are doing in the community.

Kid's Fest 2009

Today's Announcements

Young at Heart Fellowship
The Young at Heart will meet on Friday, October 23 at the home of Patricia McGarrity (1506 Brentwood) for a time of fellowship.

Revolve Camping Discipleship Retreat
Instead of attending Youth Convention this year, the Revolve youth group will go to Village Creek for a weekend of camping, discipleship and tons of fun! The bus will leave the church on Friday, October 23 at 5:00 PM and return Sunday, October 25 at 12:00 PM.

New Member Recognition
We will recognize our new members in the 6:00 PM service, Sunday, October 25.

Coffee Shop
The Coffee Shop will be open Tuesday, October 27 from 9:00-11:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Come join us for a great time of fellowship.

Thanksgiving Community Outreach
This year we would like to help out families in our community during the Thanksgiving holiday with a food basket that is available through Angel Food Ministries for $36. It includes a roasting hen, boneless netted ham, frozen diced sweet potatoes, frozen corn cobbetts, frozen cranberries, ready to cook cornbread dressing, heat and serve dinner rolls, brown gravy mix and a dessert item.
The three ways to purchase one for a family in need are:
1. Order on-line at www.angelfoodministries.com to pay with a debit or credit card. (Please call the church office to notify us you have ordered one to give out.)
2. Come by the office to pay by cash or check.
3. Put money in the offering. (Please mark your envelope the money is for a Thanksgiving basket.)
The deadline to order is Wednesday, October 28 by 3:00 PM.

Revolve Fish Fry Fundraiser
The youth are hosting a Fish Fry on Saturday, November 7 from 4:30-6:30 PM in the Family Life Center. An adult plate is $10 and a child’s plate is $5. You may substitute chicken for the fish. Buy your tickets today from any Revolve student. Thanks for supporting us and Speed the Light! The last day to order is Wednesday, October 28.

We will bless Coleman and Haley Wescott with a wedding shower on Sunday, November 1 at 3:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Since they will be traveling back to Virginia, please bring gift cards in lieu of gifts.
